Have You Lost An Animal?

A fellow Animal Rescue created a great flyer to help find homes for homeless pets. Click here to Download a flier with great tips!

Here is a link to a fellow Rescue’s Website to create a Flyer for the animal you are missing or have found.

- Contact local animal control agencies and animal rescue groups immediately.

- North Carolina law only requires agencies to keep stray or surrendered animals 72 hours before they can be euthanised.

- Keep checking back! -

-An enormous number of animals come through these shelters everyday, it is impossible for personnel to remember them all.

- Visit the shelters in person. One phone call is not enough!

- Search the facilities outside your county; sometimes well-intentioned people pick up strays and take them to shelters in other counties.

- Post fliers in your neighborhood and at local veterinary hospitals and feed stores.

- Notify your neighbors and ask for their assistance.

- If you've lost a cat, ask your neighbors to check their garages, under the house, in tool sheds, and barns in case your pet is confined.

- Notify postal carriers and utility workers in your area as well, they see most of the neighborhood on their daily route.

- Shy cats may need coaxing to come out of hiding.Call for your cat in the evening or early morning hours when the neighborhood is quiet.

- If you believe your pet has been stolen, contact local law enforcement. Pet theft is a felony! Visit www.stolenpets.com for more information.

- Check and post lost & found pet information on the many free internet based services available.
