Many Paws Make Light Work!
Volunteers guarantee CARA's future. Everything you
see at CARA and on this web site has been created by volunteers like
you. We know that anything is possible when caring people work
together. When we give, not only are we saving the lives of homeless
animals, but we find true happiness within ourselves.
Come join
others any Tuesday, Wed, Friday or
Saturday from 10am - 2pm or Thursdays from 3pm-7pm to help. If you are under
16, you need someone 18 or older to stay with you.

happening at CARA and sign up to participate.
Information
about adoption events, fundraising events, training sessions, etc.,
is listed here. Some of the current projects and fundraisers are
listed below.

|
If
you are a registered volunteer, feel free to click on an event on the
calendar below and send us an email and let us know if you can help! We
need a certain amount of volunteers for every open house, adoptathon, and
event to make it possible. |
| Volunteers
are vital to the success of our organization. CARA operates
mostly with volunteers, relying on the commitment of dedicated
animal lovers. Even the board members scoop their share of poop! Due
to funding limitations, CARA only contracts three part-time people
who perform daily animal management which includes kennel cleaning,
feeding, etc. CARA relies on volunteers to do the rest. |
| |
| Socializing
animals, fundraising, educating our community, recruiting new
volunteers, etc. are just a few of the many ways you can help. Your
time is a valuable gift and just a few hours will make an incredible
difference in the lives of homeless animals. |

|
General Guidelines: |
| |
| Due to state
regulations, any volunteers who will be cleaning the facility must
complete a training class. All volunteers are encouraged but not
required to attend a formal orientation at the shelter. You can
click the above link to attend our virtual orientation and learn
about CARA's history, needs, and future. |
| |
| Volunteers
must be at least 16 years of age to participate independently -
but still must be signed in by a parent or guardian.
Volunteers under 16 years of age must be accompanied (within an arms
reach) by a parent or guardian AT ALL TIMES.
The adult must maintain control of the animal (holding the leash,
etc.) at all times.
CARA is not liable for any injuries as
volunteers spend time in the facility at their own risk. Animals are
unpredictable and so are people, so always use your best
judgment when volunteering. :-) |
