Learn more about the Rhodesian Ridgeback.

Java is a good guy that someone abandoned. The people who found him would've loved to keep him but they already have 2 dogs. Java is a large dog weighing about 62.5 pounds (he is about 10 lbs. underweight). He is about 1 year old.

Java adores people. He thinks he is a lap dog and tries to curl up on you. He loves to give kisses. He's a really good guy who deserves a home where someone will accept all the love he has to offer. Java is not so great with other dogs and it's recommended that he be an only buddy. Due to his size and unknown past children are not recommended either.

If you would like to adopt Java, please visit CARA to fill out an on-line application or e-mail us at cara@cara-nc.org.

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
