Learn more about the Keeshond.

Whew! What a life I've had! I was born in a puppymill where a bad man bred american eskimo dogs and keeshonden. I came to CARA with four adult eskie's, my brother and sister, and two eskie babies. I love my new foster home because they keep me clean and warm and feed me lots of good stuff. I also like the other doggies there but sometimes one of them gets mad at me cause I'm always under her feet. I'm trying very hard to get the hang of paper-training but it's hard to run all the way back to the kitchen where my crate is. I'll be ready for my new forever home approximately 2/14. I've had my first deworming as I'm not old enough for anything else. Rio will be neutered before adoption.

CARA cannot guarantee these puppies are purebred. We received them after a puppymill operated was forced to relinquish his animals. We have no papers. Please use your own discretion.

For out-of-state potential adopters - The preferred method of contact is e-mail. Our volunteers cannot return out-of-state phone calls.

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
