My name is Boomer and I have a lot life ahead of me and growing to do.  I'm 11 months old now and really hope to grown into these big paws of mine.  Seriously, it's like getting around on clown shoes, but this how it goes when you are part labrador and part hound!  One day these paws will come in handy when I can out-swim everyone/thing (maybe even that shark that Michael Phelps lost to)!  I don't mean to sound braggy.  The truth is I am rather modest and tend to be a bit shy at first, not really open to using my bark-voice.  I'm optimistic that my luck has changed and I show this by wagging my tail and dipping my head to indicate I would love to receive a head or ear scratch.  The last few months that I was taking care of myself left me a little underweight at 38 lbs.  My goal is to reach 45-50 lbs, grow into these paws of mine, and be your ever faithful and trusting companion.

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
