I’m just going to throw this out there: being short has definite advantages.  Yes, those other dogs with the long legs always beat me to the ball, but I’m quick and have the advantage of being lower to the ground to grab dropped treats before the “tall” ones can.  I get more lap time and snuggles because I don’t have those long legs getting in the way. The one thing about being short I find the most advantageous is that I fit under the seat on those flying contraptions people take to go on vacation, which means I get lots of vacation time!  I’d like to see the tall dogs beat that last one.  In my 6 years of getting along on my short Dachshund legs, I have found that being compact suits me just fine.  Come meet me and you’ll see that I am a happy and enthusiastic dog around all people and animals (short or tall, I don’t judge).

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
