Learn more about the Labrador Retriever.

The color blue has a calming effect, whether it be the wall color of a room or a clear sky above. It is also associated with loyalty, wisdom, and trust, all descriptive attributes of a dog. I’m a very happy 1-year old Labrador mix that, like all dogs, can’t distinguish between colors, so I am sure the above descriptions are how my name was chosen and not because I have a blue-colored coat. When you come to meet me at CARA you’ll see that getting overly excited, barking and jumping about just isn’t my personality. That doesn’t mean I don’t like to play and run around chasing toys, I’m just aware there is a time and place for this and prefer to behave appropriately. I really look forward to meeting you and think I’ll be able to impart a calming sensation. No need for the spa, we can spend that time together and accomplish the same result. Even better, my only accepted gratuity is love, hugs, kisses, and companionship. I’ll accept a treat now and again too!

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
