Learn more about the Labrador Retriever.

Hello, my name is Tucker and I am a 1-year old yellow Labrador mix.  Labradors are the All-American dog and no surprise to be the most popular dog breed for families.  Just think about chasing the kids around on the beach of Martha’s Vineyard all afternoon and then guarding their beach toys during the family clam bake in the evening.  I’m a gentle, adventurous, and loyal companion who loves people and is very eager to see them happy.  Don’t let our  good looks fool you, we as equally intelligent as we are beautiful and enjoy learning commands and new skills.  Our happiness is contingent on making our family members happy (and we’re very interested in anything the bounces or can be retrieve)..  I am only 1-year old and may grow a little more since Labradors don’t really stop growing until the age of 2-years, but my family history is mixed so I may stay about the same.  Let’s spend some time getting to know each other at CARA and we’ll start planning our beach vacation.  I look great in red and blue neck scarves in case you were wondering what color I should wear on the ferry the the Vineyard!

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
