My name is Summer. To make a VERY long story short, I was on my own as a stray dog for a LONG time. The rescue humans tried trapping me for over a year. During that time I had TWO litters of puppies. They were able to save most of them but not all :( Well I was finally captured right before my second litter and am so thankful. I gave birth to 12 puppies and they are all going to find amazing homes soon! I was the best mom, with so many mouths to feed. During my time as a stray, I was hit by a car and suffered an injury. I also developed heartworms. The rescue is going to have my leg evaluated and my heartworms treated.

The humans have learned that I am an amazing dog. Super Super social and friendly with dogs, cats and all humans (big and small). I am likely housebroken. I am good on a leash. I like to sleep a lot or take casual walks. I am truly the best spirited dog around! I am just under 40lbs so I am quite small. I am estimated to be between 3-5 years old.

I am looking for the most amazing home. Please apply if interested.

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
