Daphne (black and white domestic medium hair) has come a LONG way. This sweet, loving, cuddly girl came to the rescue scared and not wanting to be touched or handled. With patience and time to settle down, she was able to go into foster to continue getting used to being around humans and learn how to be a house cat.

Since being in foster, Daphne has learned that being a house cat has its perks. Daphne gained confidence by watching another foster (Ducky) enjoying life while being in a house with an adult human, a small human (3 year old), and 2 four legged old men who are the resident cats in the house. Daphne has gotten used to being handled, loved on, getting brushed, and getting her claws clipped.

Daphne, now, follows her foster mom all over the house. She makes sure her person is always within eye sight. She chit chats at dinner time and when she wants attention. If her foster mom stands still long enough, Daphne will rub all over her legs asking for some love and rubs. She doesn't hide from visitors anymore but not yet letting visitors pet her. She lets her 3 year old human foster sister love on her BUT said human child is used to being around timid cats and knows how to approach her slowly without scaring her or making her nervous. Her hobbies are bathing, playing with toys, lounging on a cat tree or the couch, having convos with her fav human (foster mom), attacking feet under the covers, trying to play with her 4 legged foster brothers, and looking out the front door or laying by the front door.

Daphne is just under a year old, spayed, UTD on her vaccines, on preventions, and microchipped.

She is cat friendly and would benefit from being in a home with a cat(s) to continue to build her confidence but would not be happy in a house with dogs. Her foster home is calm and would probably enjoy her furever to be calm too or in a house with respectful children who can be patient and slow with her.

If interested in meeting Daphne, please put in a cat application with CARA to schedule a meet and greet with her.

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
