Nikola Tesla, Madame Curie, Einstein, and Shakespeare were found abandoned outside of our shelter when they were only 10 days old. They were placed into a foster home and bottle fed until they were learned to eat on their own. They have been well socialized and lived with kids, cats, and dogs. They are sweet, adorable, playful, and loving and will soon be ready for homes of their own.

*We are currently accepting applications for this litter; however, they will not be available for adoption until they are old enough to be spayed or neutered. We estimate they will be ready for adoption after June 1st.*

All pets available for adoption have been spayed or neutered, are current on vaccinations and preventatives, and micro-chipped. Cats have been tested and confirmed negative for Feline AIDS and Leukemia. Dogs have been tested (and treated, if necessary) for heartworm disease.

Our shelter is located at 42 Deep River Rd in Sanford and is open Tues, Wed, Fri & Sat from 10-2pm and Thursdays from 3-7pm (other times available by appointment). CARA's adoption process and online application can be found at http://tinyurl.com/62hhpfm. Please call 919-774-9433, email adoptions@cara-nc.org, or visit www.cara-nc.org for information about this or other pets available for adoption.

Thanks for choosing to adopt!

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
