It was Veteran's Day and a little cool outside. I was hungry, but I looked around and didn't see any food. I finally saw a patch of something on the street and started licking it. A car was coming, and suddenly somebody grabbed me and moved me to safety. It scared me and I ran back to the house where I sometimes stay.

The Lady followed, saw the four skinny Pitbulls chained up in a yard full of trash and without shelter and tried to find my owner. A man with a beer bottle walked up. After over half an hour she managed to get him to allow her to take me home. You see, I had been hit by a car and while my Mom and Sister seemed fine, I couldn't compete for what little food there was. He said we were strays he was feeding us.

I now live in a house with four children from 5 to 13, seven other dogs and 7 cats.

I love the children, love the other dogs, love the cats (I haven't learned how to play nice with them and annoy them sometimes. But a head-strong cat will put me in place easily. Maybe they just don't like my energy.) and get along with anybody. My favorite day of the week is Saturday, when I get to go on a car right to hang out with all the dogs and humans at CARA. I am one of the Greeters at the front door and if you sit down, I am yours to love on.

I am crate-trained with a howl alarm. I will let you know with a song when I have to go. If given the opportunity to go outside when needed, I am also doing well on my house-training. Since I am still a youngen, I do have the usually puppy habits, but with training I will easily out-grow them. I walk well on a leash, sit most of the time and am learning the lying down thing. If you insist.

I do have to be fed in my crate or by myself, since I am protective of my food. But if you see my early pictures, I hope you understand.

I am heartworm negative, UTD on my shots and preventatives, and am neutered.

If you have the heart and forever home for a dog that has proven himself a great fighter and survivor, please fill out an application and the fine folks from CARA will get you in contact with his Foster Mom.

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
