Baxter the Bodacious Beagle

Status: available-vet work completed Description: Forget the money - Baxter wants the BALL! Throw the ball, and Baxter will chase it and ... alas, not return it to you. Hey, he is a beagle mix after all! YOU should be the one fetching in Baxter's opinion. What a great companion for a weight-loss program :) Baxter is a charming young male who weighs about 38 lbs. He is an energetic, happy dog who loves to play catch with a ball. He is very playful and will amuse himself with almost anything. Baxter has a wonderful appetite and is not fussy about his food. He is a very happy dog, and wags his tail profusely when his foster family comes home from work. At night he goes in his crate very happily and sleeps through the night. During the day, he loves spending time out in the yard (and yes, he would really prefer a forever home with a fenced yard). Baxter listens when he is told 'no' and learns rules pretty easily. He does not jump on his foster family's furniture, nor has he had any accidents in their home. Baxter often seeks out attention and affection and overall seems like a well-adjusted guy. Right now, he is not living with any cats, but will bark at cats he sees through the fence. He does fine with the two other dogs in his foster home, but would likely do well as an only dog, too. Baxter can be nervous in new situations, so we are looking for an adult only, dog savvy home for him. He will reward you 10 times over.

Every animal that comes into the CARA program is here because one or more events occurred that led to this animal needing not only a home, but a person or family to love and protect them. Each animal has been loved and cared for by a small and determined group of people who want nothing more than to know each animal is safe for the rest of his or her life. Thank you for looking to adopt!
