Print an adoption flyer for Banzai! Meet the actual best boy...... We decided to name him Banzai, as he bares some resemblance to a hyena! Banzai was wandering a local park here in Sanford for some time. If you visit this park, you may have seen him before. Animal control, and good samaritans tried catching him to no avail. To some he seemed like an aggressive dude, but that is so not his reality! In fact, far from it.
With the power of fried chicken, he was easily contained. He primarily was easy to catch after he allowed us to give him some ear scratches, the chicken was just a plus! He was likely so evasive, being that he was scared and lost.
Through the power of a microchip we found out that he was adopted as a wee little puppy from a humane society in Maine (we will include his puppy picture in comments...eeeek he was so cute).
The story was that his owner was military, and moved here to NC. After needing to go through another relocation, his owner could not take him with so they gave him away to a coworker (assuming this person was going to take good care of him).
They lost touch with this coworker, and were surprised to find that Banzai was at large for some time.
Still his original owner, did not want him back. We are not sure what happened with the coworker who had taken Banzai in, but it's not important anymore.
What is important is that Banzai is looking for a permanent, stable, and loving home. Whoever chooses to adopt this fella is getting AN AMAZING dog. No question about it!
We recently placed him in a temporary foster home where we learned so much about him. Sadly, his doggy foster sister was too eager to play with him and injured herself so he is going to stay at the rescue!
While out on foster we learned that, he is INCREDIBLY affectionate. He is fully house and crate trained. He walks well on a leash (despite needing to overcome some fear of noises when walking on leash). He LOVES to fetch. He knows sit, down, stay, shake, roll over and has a GREAT heal command down.
He is so respectful of the home, and does not get into trouble. He does great on car rides.
